This is the first house update on the blog! Since I told you guys we bought a home in this post, I’ve been giving just a tina bit glimpses of our space only through Instagram. I figured I should share an update on the blog as well and show you guys the designs we worked on with Emily, our interior designer from Cohesively Curated. We are sooo close to a living room and dining room reveal so stay tuned for those soon!
We wanted to focus on the downstairs first since that’s what everyone would see when they come over. We plan to entertain a lot so it was important that the rooms are functional and provide a lot of seating. In the living room, we have two couches and these two fabulous pink chairs (they are my absolute favorite things in the house right now!). We went through lots of rug choices and I found this patterned rug that I thought was very chic and bold. As of last week, we got every single piece of furniture for the living room so now we just need to put up artwork and accessorize!
As I mentioned in this post, it was very difficult finding a dining table. Our dining room is long so we needed a big dining table to properly fill the space. It had to be at least 104 inches, but most retailers only had tables up to 96 inches. In order to get a table long enough, we ended up splurging on this Restoration Hardware dining table. It’s definitely a beauty and I love how sturdy and high quality it looks. We are getting some blue end chairs for the dining table and will be adding some fun lights to the space! We also recently got a bar cart and it was fun styling it!
For the kitchen, there’s not much that we need to do other than accessorize it. We changed out the builder’s lights to these gold lantern pendants when we first moved in. They also let us choose the hardware for the house so we picked these brushed gold cabinet hardware for the entire house. The remaining items we need to purchase are bar stools. As you can see below, we got these acrylic bar stools with gold legs. Unfortunately, the gold is too bright and shiny, and is a stark difference between the rest of the gold we have in the house. Sadly, they will be going back.
The other two rooms that Emily designed are the bonus room aka Jeff’s man cave and our master bedroom. We started making progress in the bonus room but have barely touched the bedroom. The only item we have in the bedroom is the tufted bed, which we purchased right when we first moved in. We are hoping to make more progress with these rooms after we completely finish the living and dining rooms. Be sure to check back in a month or so for the full dining and living rooms reveal!

Nice plan. I love how you’ve placed flowers to give it more fresh look than just random stuffs. Flowers give a nice and a fresh look anywhere it is. Btw, the house and the interior design is too good as well but just that flowers caught my eyes.
