Yay, my first spring outfit post of the year! I know everyone in the Southern states is already in full blown skirts and dresses. And although I wish I could be wearing those pieces right now, spring in Seattle looks a lot different. We are still wearing boots and sweaters over here. So for my first “spring” outfit, I’m sporting over the knee boots and this simple yet pretty Free People lace top (I actually wore this outfit back in January too with a thick coat). What does your spring outfit look like where you live?
I wore this Free People lace top outfit on a crisp spring day to go furniture shopping. If you follow me on Instagram, you know Jeff and I have been on a hunt for a dining table for what seems to be forever. We bought two different dining tables from CB2 (this and this) and they both sadly did not work out. After that, we spent countless hours searching for one online. It’s been tough since we need a long table, at least 100″ long and seats 8, but many retailers only carry 6-seater tables. But on this very day, we finally found THE dining table at Restoration Hardware! To be honest, it’s EXPENSIVE and a lot more than we wanted to spend (see it here). But with the limited availability of large tables, we bit the bullet and now we’re so excited for the table to come in a month! Can’t wait to show you guys how it looks in our space!
As for the outfit, I kept it super simple because furniture shopping is hard work hehe! Isn’t this Free People lace top gorgeous? I love the mesh details at the shoulders that show off a little bit of skin. The fit is loose and swingy and perfect for those days that you need to hide your food belly. The top is medium weight and is not sheer (except for the mesh part). The sleeves were long on me but I just rolled them up. I would recommend sizing down since the top runs large. Another tip would be to wear a strapless bra so that your bra strap doesn’t show under the mesh. The top also comes in three other colors – the black would be great for dressing up! Hopefully I’ll be able to break out in real spring clothes soon cause you all know I live for dresses and skirts!

The top is lovely. It’s feminine, but subtle. It’s distinctive, but looks like it can still be a wardrobe workhorse all season. My spring outfit consists of boots too right now – and a parka. You’re one step ahead of me. We almost had spring in my neck of the woods, but now it’s snowing again.

Furniture shopping is definitely hard work! We didn’t get our dining room table until about two years after we had moved in to our house so I feel your pain but it sounds like you have a winner and I can’t wait to see it. Your lace top is beautiful. I love the mesh lace detail and that the fit of your blouse is flowy giving it a boho vibe even if it ain’t Spring yet in your neck of the woods. It’s getting warmer on my end but supposed to get pounded with lots of rain this Thursday and Friday. Not looking forward to that at all. I hope you are having a great day and wishing you a beautiful evening!

I’m maximalism all the way. Interesting though, it’s a look I could try for several occasions. Love the individuality.
