Had to share one last recap of my parents’ 50th Had to share one last recap of my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary party because that clip of them dancing and my dad dancing with my daughters will forever be one of my favorite memories 🥹

My parents fled Vietnam in 1975 after the war ended. When they arrived in Washington to meet their sponsors, my dad happened to see my mom and aunt at the airport struggling and not knowing any English. He stepped in to help them then pursued my mom for the next six months. They got married shortly after in 1976 and the rest is history!

As recent refugees starting over in a new country, they didn’t have much money, so they had a small, simple wedding. That’s why I knew I wanted to make their 50th anniversary party extra special and give them the beautiful celebration they never had. Happy 50th anniversary to my parents!! ❤️🥂 #50years #anniversaryparty

How To Wear Over The Knee Boots, 3 Different Ways

To make up for the lack of posts the last two weeks, I’m bringing you not one but THREE different outfits showing you how to wear over the knee boots! This black pair has been my go-to for the last couple of years (I hope you’re not tired of seeing them yet) and they’re currently on sale for the very first time! They fit perfectly around my calves, comfortable enough to wear all day, are versatile for various outfits, and the price point isn’t bad either! You can read my detailed review of these boots here (note the boots’ name change). In this post, I’ll be showing you how to wear over the knee boots with jeans, dresses, and skirts!

OVER THE KNEE BOOTS WITH JEANS

I wear my over the knee boots with jeans the most. They go well with sweaters, cardigans, coats (like my wrap coat), basically anything! They instantly make a simple top and jeans outfit look super chic and effortless. I always go for loose, flowy tops to balance out the slimness of over the knee boots on the bottom. If you do wear a tighter top, I would recommend layering with a cardigan or coat to balance it all out. You can see how I styled over the knee boots with jeans and a poncho here.

OVER THE KNEE BOOTS WITH DRESSES

As you guys all know, I absolutely love wearing dresses during spring and summer. But when it comes to winter, I can be such a wimp since I hate the cold. That’s why if I ever do wear dresses during the winter, I pair them with my trusty over the knee boots. Not only do these boots keep you warm, they look so good with dresses! There’s something classy and sexy about pairing them together, and I like the small peek of your thighs that’s not too revealing. I especially love over the knee boots with A-line and sweater dresses (like this fun tie sleeve sweater dress that I’m wearing). The trick to making this combination classy and chic is to ensure only about 1-4 inches of your thighs are showing. To me, anything more than 4 inches is too revealing. Here are other outfits where I’m wearing over the knee boots with dresses here and here.

OVER THE KNEE BOOTS WITH SKIRTS

Last but not least, let’s talk about how to wear over the knee boots with skirts. They’re a little trickier to pull off since skirts are usually shorter. My tip is to layer the skirt with something longer like a cardigan or coat (I’m wearing this plaid coat), because….you guessed it! Balance! (I’m sensing a theme here hehe). Even though the skirt is more revealing, the coat tones down how much skin is showing. I think A-line skirts are the best with over the knee boots since they’re feminine and accentuate your waist, but any skirt would work. Check out this outfit where I styled over the knee boots and a skirt (throwback to 2015!).

Hope you found these tips for how to wear over the knee boots helpful! Let me know what’s your favorite way to style them!

You look fabulous rocking all three of the outfits you styled those over the knee boots in. I love the looks of the pink dress with bows tied at the cuffs of the sleeves paired with the white knit hat. Your hair, lipstick and eyelashes all look gorgeous.
I also like the look of the checked white coat and skinny blue-jeans, and of the
long plaid coat styled with the pretty sweater and deep royal red skirt.
The last OOTD I styled my boots with was a lace blouse and tiered petticoat under a longer overcoat.

I like the 3-4 inches of leg showing rule – I’ll definitely keep that in mind.
I also love the dress you paired the boots with – the back of the dress is a bit longer than the front which also adds a bit more coverage

I honestly think that over the knee boots will always be there as part of women’s fashion. It must be over the knee over everything rather. It is something that you can easily pair with.

You’re such a pro at styling over-the-knee boots. I have to say that the only one of these looks I feel like I have down is the OTK boots with jeans, so I’m feeling really inspired by the other two outfits. I’m totally going to use your tip of wearing something longer with skirts!
