I am still BEAMING over my Austin bachelorette party from April! I am so lucky to have a group of ladies that planned a solid weekend full of fun in the sun, yummy food and evening activities. Even though I was sick, I wasn’t going to let a fever stop me from having a great time at my own party and making unforgettable memories with my gals! Here’s a recap of everything we did and where we stayed for my Austin bachelorette party!
Night 1
Where We Stayed in Austin
On Friday evening, we hopped on a four-hour flight to Austin. It was delayed by a few hours but we finally arrived at 12:30 am. We took a Lyft to our Domio, and Domio surprised me with the sweetest set up of balloons! Even though I was extremely feeling sick that day, this surprise made it all better! Here’s the exact Austin Domio home we stayed at – it had 5 bedrooms, 4 baths, beautifully decorated, and was in the perfect Travis Heights location. Everywhere we went was within a 10 minute drive from the house. If you’ve never heard of Domio before, they rent out beautiful homes and condos while also providing hotel concierge services. For instance, you can call them anytime 24/7 to request additional towels and blankets, or even have them help you plan an itinerary for your trip!
Day 1
la Barbecue
The real fun began on our first full day in Austin. You can’t leave the South without some good ole BBQ so we ordered take out from La Barbecue and ate it in the comfort of our Domio! It was super tasty! Their famous beef ribs were huge and tender. We had so much leftover food that we saved it for the next day. Franklin’s is the most famous for BBQ in Austin, but unfortunately, we missed the deadline to order it to-go. Apparently you have to place the order two weeks in advance! I’ll save it for my next visit to Austin.
Bachelorette Decor
My 8 girlfriends also surprised me with some really adorable and thoughtful bachelorette decor. The theme was Tina’s Final Fiesta so they got me a bunch of fun personalized items including cactus cups, tattoos, and colorful hair ties! They also put up a Final Fiesta photo backdrop (here, here) where we took lots of selfies.
Bachelorette Outfit Theme: Sundresses
Today’s outfit theme for my Austin bachelorette party was sundresses. How cute and summery does everyone look in their outfits? We visited the Erin Condren store at The Domain since I wanted to take photos with the Instagram-worthy rainbow stairs and pink mural.
Day Drinking / Bar Hopping
We were exploring The Domain area and stumbled upon the most Instagrammable bar ever! Wonder Bar had everything from a spin wheel to banana swings, to a secret rubber ducky tub room! We all got their $10 mystery shots, which gives you 1 shot each and a spin. The spin wheel has various prizes from getting kicked out (this happened to my friend Leslie but they let her back in right after lol), chocolates, warm gin (gross!), and somehow two of the girls won us the grand prize of a $50 tab each! It was such an amazing and fun experience cause we definitely filled up on drinks!
Then we headed off to another bar called Kitty Cohen’s Poolside Bar. It had a more chill and retro vibe and they had the prettiest frose! They also had a small pool where you can dip your feet in. It felt like Palm Springs meets Texas.
Dinner – Japanese / Texan Fusion
After day drinking, it was time to get our grub on! We stopped by Kemuri Tatsu-Ya for Japanese / Texan fusion food. Think Japanese ramen with bbq meat!
Night 2
Clubbing / Bachelorette Outfit Theme: Black + White Dresses
We went out on the town to Sixth Street also known as The Dirty Sixth. There were a ton of bars there and they close off the streets so you can walk freely around. It was packed with so many other bachelorette / bachelor parties – who knew Austin was such a popular destination for them! The outfit theme for the night was black dresses while I wore a little white dress. I wanted to keep it simple and easy so that no one had to buy additional clothes – everyone has to have a LBD in their closets right?
Bachelorette Game
The agenda for the night was that I had a checklist of items to complete. My friend Teresa created this list while Christina created these Boba Bucks which is a drawing of my fur baby Boba with my favorite drink ever, bubble tea (aka boba)! For every task I completed, I would earn Boba Bucks, which I could later redeem from my girlfriends for a boba gift card! Isn’t that the cutest and most thoughtful idea ever?! Here’s a photo of me completing one of the tasks – taking a photo with another bride-to-be! That night we went to 3 different bars: Lit Lounge, RoofTop Bar, and The Jackalope. The last one was my favorite because they played really good hip hop music. Yes, your girl is all about that! lol
Day 3
River Floating
We started the second full day of my Austin bachelorette party floating the river with ATXCursions. We took a school bus out to San Marcos river and floated down the river for a few hours. It was probably THE highlight of the trip. There were so many hilarious moments of us girls struggling to stay together, falling into the water, getting really sunburnt all while jamming to our theme song of the trip – Bust Down Thotiana lol. We also partied and rocked out with the other groups on the tour – there was another bachelorette group, bachelor group, and even a divorcee group. We sang our hearts to songs dedicated to each group like Marry You by Bruno Mars and F**k You by Cee-Lo Green lol.
Rainy Street Bar Hopping / Bachelorette Outfit Theme: Personalized Matching T-Shirts
After a 6-hour excursion, we made it back to our Domio to take a much needed nap. Then we got ready and wore these amazing personalized tees that my girls created just for my Austin bachelorette party! Again, my talented friend Christina designed these shirts where she traced Boba’s face for these shirts. Mine says “Howdy! Justatinabit Engaged” while the other girls’ say “Howdy! Justatinabit Drunk”! This time, we explored Rainey Street and stopped by The Container Bar for some drinks and then ate at food trucks nearby.
Night 3
Game of Thrones, Pizza, and Questions Game
We ended the night with watching Game of Thrones with Austin’s famous Home Slice Pizza and Lick Ice Creams. We weren’t going to miss out on watching the biggest battle on television history even if we’re on vacation! I’m such a homebody and these are my favorite kind of nights anyway. We also played a little game where my gals asked Jeff a list of questions ahead of time and I had to guess his answers. Let’s just say Jeff gave so many bad answers lol
Day 4
Explore South of Congress
On the last day of my Austin bachelorette party, we explored Downtown Austin and South of Congress aka SoCo. We scootered to the Tau Ceti mural and took some colorful photos. This was a fun adventure because we don’t have scooters in Seattle yet. And of course, we couldn’t leave Austin without trying Torchy’s Tacos. The queso and tacos were so bomb! Then we made it to SoCo where we checked out the cutest shops and more murals. We had to take a photo with the ‘I love you so much’ wall next to Jo’s Coffee and then stopped by the Kendra Scott flagship store. Three of the girls bought custom necklaces to take home with them!
Whew! And that wraps up my amazing Austin bachelorette trip! I had a blast with my girls and they truly put together an unforgettable trip! Special thanks to Nina for planning out the entire itinerary, Teresa for coming up with the bachelorette games, and Christina for designing the Boba Bucks and shirts! I love you all so much!
And if you made it this far, thank you so much for reading! I hope you enjoyed this detailed recap of my Austin bachelorette party! Let me know if you have any questions about things we did and where we stayed. I’m also linking all of these bachelorette outfits and decorations below!
