Dark Floral Dress

Guys, I think I have a problem – with always wearing floral midi dresses to weddings! I didn’t notice I had a thing for them until now, but you can tell I’m totally obsessed as seen here and here! I think I just love them because I can’t wear midi dresses on a regular basis (they’re usually too dressy) and the majority of the weddings that I go to are in spring and summer time, which is obviously when all of the floral prints come out. This is actually my first time branching out to a dark floral dress! I know. “Floral? For spring? Groundbreaking.” – The Devil Wears Prada hehe

I wore this dark floral dress just this last Saturday to attend a lovely wedding. It was raining cats and dogs that day (I was under a small covered space for these photos), but it didn’t stop me from wearing this pretty dress. This dress basically describes Seattle’s spring weather right now – dark and rainy but we have gorgeous blooms everywhere! If you’ve never been to Seattle during spring, we have a plethora of cherry blossoms around the city, especially at University of Washington (where I went to college), and even tulip fields, which would be an awesome bucket list item if you’ve never been!

For reference, I’m wearing a size 2 in the dark floral dress and it fits true to size. This midi dress hits me slightly below at my calves on my 5’4″ frame. Because it’s a little long, I definitely needed to add some height with these nude ankle sandals. I adore the ruffle sleeves and the gorgeous, colorful floral print that pops against the navy color. I finished the look with yellow tassel earrings, but you can definitely switch up the colors to match any of the various colors on the dress! Also, how cool is this monogrammed clutch? Nordstrom sent it to me a while ago when they did a Pop-In with Everlane and I’m finally putting it to use!
