Several weeks ago, we had the most action packed weekend we’ve had in a while. Seattle got hit with a big snow storm, it was Lunar New Year, and then it was Valentine’s Day all in one weekend! We celebrated with tons of food, photos, and smiles – Olivia definitely stole the show there! Even though we were snowed in, it was extra special to have celebrated all of these firsts with Olivia. Here’s a huge photo dump from that weekend!

It’s rare that Seattle gets snow in the city itself, but the last two Februarys have been an exception! We got hit with a crazy, unusual amount of snow (for Seattle anyway), which is 10+ inches total! With the big hills around here, we try avoid driving as much as we can and we’ll stock up on tons of food. We call it Seattle Snowpocalypse, and got a 2.0 version this year!
In anticipation of a snow storm, I got Olivia this adorable baby snowsuit back during Black Friday. I’m glad I got to put it to good use and still can’t get over how freakin cute she looked! I may be bias but Olivia is the most darling little baby snow bear I’ve ever seen! She was such a trooper in the snow too!

Lunar New Year
During the same snowy weekend was also Lunar New Year, which is the most celebrated holiday in Vietnamese culture. Although we didn’t get to celebrate with the usual traditions (like going to the temple and watching lion dances), my parents stayed over the weekend to celebrate with us and Olivia. I surprised them with Olivia in a Chinese qipao outfit while I wore a Vietnamese traditional dress called ao dai! I tried to find her an ao dai but couldn’t find any in her size.
Olivia bowed and wished them a healthy, long life, and for all of their wishes to come true. The grandparents absolutely loved seeing her in her outfit and gave Olivia her first ever li xi (lucky red envelope money)! Of course we also indulged in lots of traditional Vietnamese Lunar New Year dishes like caramelized egg and pork belly (thit kho) and sticky rice (banh tet)!

Valentine’s Day
The weekend ended with a low key but very special Valentine’s Day. I made Olivia this onesie with my Cricut that says “Mommy is my Valentine.” Then I kissed her all over with lipstick hehe. She is seriously such a happy baby and I’m LIVING for all of her smiles! I love that I was able to celebrate all of these firsts while sharing and making new traditions with Olivia!
