Happy Thursday everyone! I’m throwing it back today to this late summer wedding guest outfit. This black scalloped dress was the grand finale for the 8th wedding of the year. I know, I still can’t believe I went to that many weddings!
We celebrated our friend’s wedding at the gorgeous Newcastle Golf Course in mid-September. Although most of my wedding guest outfits were bright and colorful this year, I went with this classic black scalloped dress this time. I love the elegance of it and the beautiful scallop details along the neckline and hemline. The fabric is thick and high quality while still being very moveable and comfortable. The waistline is also very slimming since the pleating details slightly flare out. Did I also mention there are pockets? I don’t know why but I’m obsessed with dresses with pockets! They make it so easy to keep my phone on me or carry around lipstick!
In terms of fit, this black scalloped dress fits true to size. I’m wearing a Regular Size 0. The dress comes in both tall and petite sizes as well and is available in this vibrant red color. Although I wore this dress during summer, I bought it because I knew I would get many wears out of it. It’s perfect for any special occasion, including holiday events, and works during any season. It’s that classic little black dress that every girl needs – except with a darling twist with the scallops!
I also have to mention these killer lace up sandals by Marc Fisher. The lace up and tassel details with slight touches of gold will make you feel so fierce and fabulous. I love the scallops on that dress because they are so fun, and they also make it so that you can go without wearing any accessories. And pockets? I’ll take pretty much any dress that has pockets! In all seriousness, this truly is a great outfit for weddings or any special occasion.
