I can’t believe it’s been over a year since I’ve last worn a tulle skirt to celebrate my blogversary (see post here). I like to reserve wearing them for special occassions but I couldn’t pass up on this sweet bow tulle skirt! There was unfortunately no occasion this time around, but hey, why not plan ahead for some holiday outfit ideas!
You know my obsession with bows so you could imagine how excited I was by this bow tulle skirt. I just adore everything about it like the rich burgundy color, the affordable price ($81), and obviously, the big darling bow! For reference, the fit runs slightly small. I’m in between a Size 0 and 2 right now and the 2 was more comfortable for me. In terms of the length, I am 5’4″ and the skirt hits the bottom of my calves so heels are a must to avoid looking short. If you’re under 5’2″ this skirt might be a little too long. Sizes are already super limited so I searched and searched and only found this other bow tulle skirt. I’ve never shopped from Ali Express before but it’s very affordable, comes in a ton of other colors, and also looks shorter!
A bow tulle skirt would be perfect for planning out your upcoming holiday outfit ideas. Voluminous skirts always make a statement and are ultra feminine. When styling a tulle skirt, balance it out by wearing something slim on top. Crop tops are ideal since they’re fitted and don’t add bulk around the waist area. I love the one I’m wearing with the flutter ruffle sleeves but it’s sold out. I found these alternative crop tops (here and here) that would make cute pairings as well!
I am totally planning to repeat this outfit again during the holidays whether it’s for a fancy dinner, to watch the Nutcracker, or for a holiday company party! Are you already planning out holiday outfits and what events do you usually dress up for?
