Floral Midi Dress

Nothing says summer to me more than an effortless floral midi dress and gladiator sandals. I could wear this combination all season long!

Since Seattle gets a little breezy during the evenings, this floral midi dress works great for both day activities and summer nights. I wore this dress over the weekend to try brunch at Vivo 53. The elastic waist came in handy since we ate SO much food and even finished off our meal with their insane sundaes (post about this coming on Friday)! That same day, it went from being very hot (85 degrees is considered hot for Seattle!) to being windy, especially along the beach where we watched the sun set. But that’s what I love about longer dresses. You don’t have to worry about them flying up and they are great for keeping your legs warm!

For reference, I’m wearing an XS and this floral midi dress fits true to size. I’m 5’4″ and you can see how the dress falls on me. Many petite girls like me don’t think maxi dresses work on them so I think a midi dress is a good compromise. If you’re worried about looking too short, try chunky sandals or other heels for some extra leg length and height! I decided to wear flat gladiator sandals here because I knew I was going to be walking around all day.

Random story time – Did you guys notice how thick and drawn in my eyebrows are in these photos? I usually only lightly fill in my brows, but didn’t know how to do it very well. Benefit cosmetics was doing a “shape your brow” promotion at the mall so I gave it a try after brunch. My boyfriend went away for a bit, and when he came back and saw me, he had this completely terrified look. I finally looked in the mirror and even scared myself! hehehe We’re not used to my brows being this thick and dark. Every time my boyfriend looked at me throughout that day, we just cracked up knowing how intense my brows were. We decided to take these outfit photos to see how the brows would look in photos. It’s not so bad now that I look at it but don’t think I could get used to them in real life! hehe

You are the cutest, Tina! I’ve been hearing so much buzz about the Benefit brow products and services lately, I’ve yet to give them a try, but I’m thinking about it. I love the fuller brow look on you! As for your outfit, I love your dress and I agree, petite can definitely wear maxi dresses, too! I’ve noticed the styles that are specifically tailored to petites often look so streamlined and yours look just that on you! Thanks so much for sharing, beauty, and I hope you’re having the best week so far!

As a short girl, I do tend to gravitate towards midi dresses because I feel like they are much more flattering on me. I love the blue color of this one and the floral pattern is beautiful. And I think your eyebrows look great in these pictures, but they always look great regardless!
