Stripes are no doubt a favorite summer staple. They’re timeless, effortless, and for everyone! This flare striped dress from Chicwish is clearly no exception and I’ve already worn it a couple of times! 🙂
I first wore this flare striped dress on Memorial Day to have lunch with my friends. Who knew that SO many restaurants and cafes were going to be closed? We honestly had no idea and walked all around Capitol Hill to at least 3 restaurants and 2 dessert places before finally settling on something that was open. On this frustrating (and pretty comical) adventure, my friends were getting sweaty from walking in the hot weather (and possibly from hangryness). But this flare striped dress did wonders for me. I didn’t break a sweat at all since the fabric is super lightweight and airy, yet is still lined and not see through. The slight breeze also made my dress flow beautifully with the wind especially with the high low hemline.
I’m wearing this flare striped dress in an XS. Although it fit fine, I feel like it runs just slightly big particularly at the chest area. However, I love that the dress comes with a sash tie that helps tailor the dress for your body (I definitely tightened it as much as I could) and cinches your waist. Plus, I love any kind of addition that creates a cute bow!
I paired the flare striped dress with low block heeled snakeskin sandals (similar version here) for major walking points. But if you want to dress it up more, it would look very cute with high heeled nude ankle strap sandals as well!
