Oops, I did it again! I think this is the third post in a row now where I’m wearing plaid #sorrynotsosorry.
I’m telling ya, you’re going to see so much plaid from everyone this season! I’m loving that this plaid pencil skirt is classic and feminine with it’s delicate lace hem. A chambray shirt was great for slightly dressing down the skirt, but for next time, I’m thinking about wearing a long chunky sweater dress over it so that only the lace hem is peeking out! Sounds cute right?
When it came to picking the right shoes for this outfit, I thought about pairing the plaid pencil skirt with simple black ankle strapped shoes. But let’s be real, I can’t walk in heels for a long period of time without my feet killing me (How do some of you girls do it? Please share your secrets!). I was going to walk all around town that day, so instead, I opted for these practical yet uber cute Jet Set Black suede pointed toe booties from Restricted Shoes. They’re right under $100 and are so perfect for fall! The chunky heels elongate your legs while making the shoes super easy and comfortable to walk in. The buckle details add a little edge to my rather feminine closet, and suede is especially a fun texture to incorporate into your wardrobe this season. I live in heels for years, can’t be without them and only starting this year I started wearing flats. Even now with my little one I still wear heels. LOL! I’ve never been a fan of pointy toes shoes though, my feet is large at the front so it usually hurts after a couple of minutes walking in them.

Love the plaid mixed with the lace. It’s such a great combination. Also great idea to wear the booties instead.
