I’m excited to be sharing my DIY plant wall patio decor! I’ve been looking around for what seems forever to find something to fill this large, bare space above our patio sofa. I couldn’t find anything big enough that I liked, and finally went on Pinterest and was inspired by the idea of a plant wall. However, since our patio is covered with little sunlight coming through, I knew it would be difficult to maintain any plants here (plus, I have a black thumb lol). So after combining a few ideas I saw on Pinterest, I came up with this faux plant wall! It’s super simple, cute, and colorful. And the best part? It requires no maintenance! Here’s how to recreate this DIY plant wall patio decor!

What You’ll Need:
- Ruler
- Leveler
- Pencil
- Drill
- Screws
- Pots (we bought 2 sets for a total of 14 pots)
- Faux Plants (these are the exact ones here, here, here, here)

Step 1: Premark Spots for Pots
First, you’ll want to determine how far apart you want the pots to be. For us, we did 15″ between the screws. Using the ruler, leveler, and pencil, we premarked where we want the the 15″ apart spacing. We did 5 spots for the top and bottom rows each, and 4 spots staggered between the two rows in the middle. Now, drill screws into those premarked spots.

Step 2: Fluff Faux Plants
Fluff out your faux plants to make them look more voluminous and real. I placed two faux plants into each white pot. Note that I only used the pot and did not use the black inserts that come with it.

Step 3: Hang Pots
Finally, just hang the white pots onto the screws! These pots have a hole in the back for the screw to hang onto so it’s super fast and easy to put them on! Take a step back and ensure all of the pots are straight and aligned. I also re-fluffed some of the faux plants so that they’re similar in size!

Wow, this is so easy that I can actually do it! I tell you, Tina, I am not a home decor person so when I find an easy tutorial, I am on it! I also love the idea of faux plants. I only have a cactus that lasted the years but all my other plants have, shall we say, move on! I hope your week is going well so far and happy Friday!
