Had to share one last recap of my parents’ 50th Had to share one last recap of my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary party because that clip of them dancing and my dad dancing with my daughters will forever be one of my favorite memories 🥹

My parents fled Vietnam in 1975 after the war ended. When they arrived in Washington to meet their sponsors, my dad happened to see my mom and aunt at the airport struggling and not knowing any English. He stepped in to help them then pursued my mom for the next six months. They got married shortly after in 1976 and the rest is history!

As recent refugees starting over in a new country, they didn’t have much money, so they had a small, simple wedding. That’s why I knew I wanted to make their 50th anniversary party extra special and give them the beautiful celebration they never had. Happy 50th anniversary to my parents!! ❤️🥂 #50years #anniversaryparty

Wedding Outfits + Getting Ready Photos

I hope you guys enjoyed my wedding recap post! I kept it high level in that post, but for the next few weeks, I want to share all the details that went into the best day of our lives! A lot of time and effort went into each big moment, and I have tons of tips and lessons learned to share. First up, let’s talk about our wedding outfits and getting ready photos!

Photos by Sam and Sola Studio

Makeup + Hair

On the morning of the wedding, my bridesmaids and I woke up bright and early at the hotel we stayed at to get our glam on. I tasked TQ Makeup with giving the girls a flawless, bronzy makeup look, which she totally nailed! For me, I wanted to look like how I usually do but just slightly more glammed up. My Matron of Honor created a glowy, golden look for me while my bridesmaid, Aileen, gave me glamorous, romantic curls. We even added clip-on hair extensions for the first time ever since my curls fall flat easily. See my hair/makeup look below with #nofilter! After 4.5 hours of getting ready, we were off to the venue to put on our wedding outfits and take getting ready photos! Doesn’t everyone look fabulous?!

Bridal White Lace Robe + Floral Bridesmaids Robes

For getting ready photos, I gifted my girls these silky floral bridesmaids robes, which matched our floral, mauve wedding theme perfectly. I wore a delicate, white bridal lace robe with a silk chemise underneath. You betcha that we popped champagne to celebrate the start of an amazing day (and to take cute champagne photos, duh hehe)!

My Wedding Dress

I’m still in awe with my stunning wedding dress, the Calla Blanche 19110 Willow. It was everything I wanted – a ball gown without the stuffy ball gown feel. The long, gorgeous train was a complete wow factor. It had summery, beaded, sparkling flowers all over to go with our outdoor wedding theme.

While wedding dress shopping at a&be Seattle (highly recommended, by the way!) with two of my bridesmaids, I had a specific budget I didn’t want to exceed so I didn’t even bother looking at dresses in this price range at first. However, one of my bridesmaids was browsing around and thought this one was very me, even though it was out of my budget. As she was pulling it out to show me, she started choking on her own saliva. We all laughed so hard, joking how she must have really loved this dress. With that reaction, I had no choice but to try it on for her lol. Walking out of the dressing room with this Calla Blanche gown on, I felt like a true princess. My bridesmaids kept saying OMG OMG OMG, and the same bridesmaid that choked earlier started crying with happiness lol. At that point, I knew it was the one!

Bridesmaids First Look + Bridesmaids Dresses

Okay, I didn’t even know bridesmaids first look was a thing, but I’m glad we did it! Their reactions to my full look were absolutely sweet and priceless! I got their bridesmaids dresses from Revelry (remember how we did a fun at home try-on session?). I let the girls each pick whichever style they liked, and they chose the Mackenzie Chiffon, Penelope Tulle, Rosalie Tulle, and Kennedy Chiffon in the colors Bradshaw Blush (for tulle) and Rose Quartz (for chiffon). I still can’t get over how stunning they all looked!

Groom + Groomsmen Attire

Jeff has known his groomsmen for 15+ years, one of them coming to our wedding all the way from Taiwan! We thought it would be a challenge getting everyone their wedding outfits, but The Black Tux made it so easy! Their entire look is from there and here’s what they got: Peak Lapel Tuxedo, Suspenders, Black Patent Leather Shoes, Silver Onyx Cufflinks, Black Pin Dot Bow Tie. Jeff also got everyone donut socks, because if you can’t tell by now, we love donuts!! I think Jeff looked extraordinarily handsome and dapper in his black sleek tux! HelloOoOo husband-to-be!! *insert heart eyes emoji*

Reception Wedding Outfits

During the reception dinner, Jeff and I snuck off and changed our wedding outfits. Jeff got into a white tux and he looked extremely classy and stylish in it! I thought the white tux really popped in our nighttime photos. For me, I changed into a classic lace wedding dress paired with a jeweled belt. This dress is so different than my other one – it’s simple, more casual, and I don’t take up three feet walking around lol (my alterations lady and I measured it). It definitely made dancing the night away much easier too cause your girl got low low low low!

I can’t wait to write the next post where I’ll be sharing our First Look and tips for how to take photos with your furbabies! In the meantime, here are links to all of our wedding outfit details.
