It’s my first Wedding Wednesday and I’m so excited to be talking with you all about Revelry, a revolutionary way to shop for bridal and bridesmaids dresses online! This is an amazing brand I fully stand behind since they are so inclusive of different shapes, sizes, and skin color! We recently ordered beautiful Revelry bridal and bridesmaids dresses for the big day and I’m taking you through the entire process from trying on the dresses at home to placing our order online! 

As you read in this post, I went to six bridal shops before finding the wedding dress of my dreams. In this digital age, I rarely ever go shopping at malls anymore so I thought it was such a hassle having to drive to and physically shop at so many different stores. When it came time to look for bridesmaids dresses, I thought to myself, “There HAS to be an easier way to shop for bridesmaids dresses online.” Funny enough, through a quick Google search, I found Revelry. During that same evening, I was scrolling on Instagram and saw that Style Me Pretty also featured Revelry. It seemed like the wedding gods were trying to tell me something so I reached out to Revelry and the rest is history! Now let me tell you how Revelry works!

1. Browse bridal and bridesmaids dresses selection online

The first step is to check out Revelry’s gorgeous and extensive selection of bridal and bridesmaids dresses online. They have a huge variety of dress styles (many are convertible and can be worn multiple ways), fabric choices, colors (each dress is available in over 30 different colors), and even sizes. I am always thrilled when brands are size and color inclusive and I love that their bridesmaids dresses are available in sizes 0-32 as well as in different lengths (regular maxi, petite maxi, tall maxi, and cocktail). Their bridal dresses also come in sizes 0-24 with regular and tall lengths. Additionally, you can choose between 5 different skin tones for illusion details on your bridal dress. This is a major game changer for me, especially as a woman of color!

For my bridesmaids, I want everyone to wear the same color but each bridesmaid could pick out whatever style she likes. I know that one dress style doesn’t fit all and I want my gals to wear something that they feel most beautiful and comfortable in. We ended up doing a mix of 3 tulle dresses and 3 chiffon dresses. I also got to try on a few of Revelry’s gorgeous bridal dresses and can’t wait to show you which one I picked as my evening/reception gown!

2. Order dress samples and swatches

Once my bridesmaids selected which dresses and sizes they wanted to try, I ordered sample dresses and got them sent to my house for an awesome at-home try on session. Since not all sizes may be available in the exact color you want, you can still order the dress and size for fit. We also ordered the swatch book to see what the colors and fabrics looked like in person. But to be honest, it was a little difficult to picture the color just from the swatches so definitely make sure one of your samples is available in the exact color you want.  Each sample dress costs $15 to rent and includes free shipping both ways.

You get 3 days to try on and return the dresses so I scheduled a try on date ahead of time with my bridesmaids and timed the delivery accordingly. This try on session was the first time my bridesmaids all met each other. It was such a great way to break the ice cause they were all changing in front of each other, getting down to their undergarments, and helping each other zip up lol. I have plenty of rooms for each person to change in but it was just way more fun with all seven of us in my master bedroom. We had an absolute blast!!

Have a baby? Have a dog? No problem, my matron of honor’s baby as well as my fur babies were able to join in on the fun with us too lol. Trying on the dresses in the comfort of my home created a way more private, relaxed, and no pressure environment. We didn’t have to worry about dressing room size, crowds, pushy sales people, being rushed and making sure our availability works with the bridal shops’ schedules. Plus, Jeff and my family members were downstairs if we needed anything (like watching the babies) while we were trying on the dresses upstairs!

This Revelry at-home try on session was also the first time all of my bridesmaids got to see me try on bridal dresses together, and my mom and aunt got a peek too! During my six bridal shops frenzy, my bridesmaids’ schedules didn’t work out for all of them to come with me and a lot of bridal shops limit how many guests you can bring anyway (usually 2-3).

In terms of sizing, remember that bridal sizes are different than your normal clothes sizing so definitely refer to Revelry’s sizing chart when picking out your samples. Revelry also provides measuring tapes with your shipment of samples so you can double check your measurements. Like I mentioned above, I love that Revelry offers different sizes, especially petite length, which is great for us shawties since myself and my bridesmaids are all 5’4″ and under lol.

3. Pack up dress samples

After an epic at-home try on session, it’s time to pack up all of the samples. I’m a very organized person so I was able to get the right dresses in their original boxes. I ticked and tied, and it was pretty easy peasy for me. However, I will admit that if you’re not super organized and you ordered a ton of sample dresses, it might take you a while to put everything back. I highly recommend having the bridesmaids help you pack everything up to make it easier and faster!

4. Order bridal and bridesmaids dresses

Once your bridesmaids have tried on the dresses and know what sizes they need, it’s time to order their beautiful selections! Revelry dresses are made to order and take about 6-8 weeks to make and ship. Now I’m just sitting back, relaxing and waiting for them to arrive! That’s it! It was honestly such a fun and smooth experience shopping with Revelry and I’m superrrrr excited for our bridal and bridesmaids dresses!
