Why You Need A Black Leather Jacket

A black (faux) leather jacket is always classic and an absolute must in every girl’s closet. You’ll wear it year after year and it literally goes with any outfit! Here are three reasons why you need a black leather jacket:

  • You can layer it over any outfit: A black leather jacket is the perfect layering piece and it can be dressed up or down. If you’re going for a casual look, style it over a plain tee or cozy sweater and choose sneakers or a cute pair of flats for comfort. Or, take it out on a night on the town with a silky blouse or lace cami. Throw on some killer laced up pumps or ankle strap sandals for extra fabulousness. Whatever the case, it’ll also keep you warm during the colder months!
  • Toughen up a girly look: I love mixing edgy and girly together – there’s something so refreshing about this kind of look! A black leather jacket is a fool proof way to easily add edginess. Wear it over a frilly dress or a lovely peplum top. It also looks good with delicate textures like lace. More recently, I’m loving a black leather jacket with skirts – either a pleated skirt or a flouncy A-line one!
  • Add texture to your ensemble: In this look, I’m wearing very casual and basic pieces – striped dress, striped scarf, and peep toe booties (these are from Toms by the way and are super comfortable). This black leather jacket helped add another element and texture to the entire ensemble! Adding texture is one of the easiest ways to make an outfit more interesting.

There are seriously endless ways to style a black leather jacket and I can’t tell you enough why you need one. This one I’m wearing is from BLANKNYC and it’s very good quality for right under $100. It fits true to size and I’m wearing an XS for reference. I love all the zippers and moto details. The faux leather jacket is thick but soft and moveable so it’s great for fall! I also have this faux leather jacket from BLANKNYC and it’s lasted me many years (and still going)!

    I love leather jackets. I’ve only had one in my lifetime. It had studs on it and my hubby (boyfriend at the time) didn’t like it, so I got rid of it *sob*. I haven’t had a new one since then. I really need to get one lol.

    Everyone needs a black leather jacket just as much as everyone needs a LBD! Absolutely love this Fall look on you and that backpack is just plain adorable!
