Woo hoo, I’m back from our long weekend trip in Colorado Springs and am SO excited to share photos from this beautiful town! First up – this striped scarf outfit which we photographed from Pikes Peak!
If you’ve never heard of Pikes Peak, it’s the most visited mountain in North America and the second in the world (after Mount Fuji). At the very top, you are standing more than 14,000 feet above sea level! You could reach the summit via a train, but we decided to drive up ourselves to take it all in and enjoy the views on our own time. It was definitely worth it cause it was THE most scenic drive I’ve ever been on. The drive starts at about 8,000 feet elevation where it was perfectly 75 degrees with views of gorgeous fall foliage. As we got higher and higher, the temperature gradually dropped a total of 40 degrees. We ended up driving through some rain and hail, which turned into snow at the peak!
Good thing I wore this striped scarf outfit and brought along this black waterfall jacket. My boyfriend, however, was not prepared at all and wore shorts, a tee, and slippers (boys, hehe).
What I really like about this striped scarf is that it’s not huge or too thick. It’s actually shaped as a triangle so all you have to do is wrap it around your neck. A regular blanket scarf, on the other hand, is shaped as a square. You have to fold it in half to form a triangle and then wrap it around. I love a regular blanket scarf but sometimes they’re so huge, I feel like I’m drowning in them. So this one I’m wearing is the perfect balance! This striped scarf is from Nordstrom, only $45, and comes in a grey color too. Watch out though, it does leave behind some lint on your top.
Other items I’m wearing include this high low top, skinny ripped jeans, and my trusty tote bag (all items from last year). I think I really need to buy new fall clothes this year hehe!
