If you follow me on Snapchat (don’t even get me started on the Snapchat vs. Instagram Stories debacle), you’ll know that I absolutely love food. So I’m excited to be sharing with you my first ever restaurant review on the blog with Vivo 53!
My boyfriend, Jeff, and I were invited to try out Vivo 53 with their recent launch of Insane Sundaes. We were so spoiled with food and sundaes, and left with extremely full and happy bellies! All the details below!
FOOD: Vivo 53 is a modernized Italian restaurant known for their pizzas. However, when we looked at their brunch menu, we just couldn’t resist. We ordered the Brioche French Toast (sweet and classic), Eggs Benedict (perfectly poached egg with amazing hollandaise sauce), and the Tuscan Fried Chicken and Waffle (chicken and waffle were both crispy and the vanilla maple syrup was the cherry on top!). Jeff even got bottomless mimosas that he thought were refreshing and strong. Everything was delicious and I’m already planning to go back!
INSANE SUNDAES: Even after all that food (and trust me, we killed it all), we were so excited about the Vivo 53 Insane Sundaes. They offer four different flavors ranging from $15-19. We tried the Candy Esplosione and Nutella Seduzione. Holy dairy – these were seriously insane and gigantic! Each sundae was topped with such fun and crazy toppings like a slice of cheesecake, huge brownie sticks, full-sized candy bars, and lollipops! Bring a friend or two to share these concoctions!
Candy Esplosione: This one was my favorite of the two and the ice cream was so good. It had M&M’s, Neapolitan ice cream, chocolate pretzels, rock candy, chocolate peanut butter brownie, salted caramel truffles, Heath bar, swirl lollipop, whipped cream, and chocolate drizzle.
Nutella Seduzione: This sundae was also amazing and more rich and creamy. It comes with chopped hazelnuts, Italian cheesecake ice cream, Nutella cheesecake, chocolate drizzle, dark chocolate shavings, swirl lollipop, and whipped cream.
SERVICE: Service was good and our server was attentive. The Insane Sundaes do take about 10 minutes to make (it even says so on the menu) so be prepared to wait a little. My only suggestion is that Vivo 53 should thoroughly clear and wipe down the tables before bringing out the dessert.
AMBIANCE: I loved how open, bright, and airy Vivo 53 is. The interior is modern yet funky with New York / Italian vibes. Also loving this cool exposed brick mural!
LOCATION: Vivo 53 is located at 504 Bellevue Sq, Bellevue, WA 98004, about 20 minutes from Seattle. If you’ve never heard of Bellevue, it’s an upscale and bustling area home to companies like Expedia and T-Mobile. The location of the restaurant itself is ideal – right outside of Bellevue Square Mall and near tons of other restaurants and shops!
FINAL VERDICT: Vivo 53 is definitely worth trying. Brunch was super tasty, but if you’re not in the mood for a full meal, at least try the Insane Sundaes. They’re awesome, unique and there’s nothing like them around!

There’s nothing unique about the sundaes. They’re a knock off of Black Tap Brewery sundaes, down to the price tag and the so-called chef pleading the 5th on calorie count.
