Had to share one last recap of my parents’ 50th Had to share one last recap of my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary party because that clip of them dancing and my dad dancing with my daughters will forever be one of my favorite memories 🥹

My parents fled Vietnam in 1975 after the war ended. When they arrived in Washington to meet their sponsors, my dad happened to see my mom and aunt at the airport struggling and not knowing any English. He stepped in to help them then pursued my mom for the next six months. They got married shortly after in 1976 and the rest is history!

As recent refugees starting over in a new country, they didn’t have much money, so they had a small, simple wedding. Rain Boots Outfit

rain boots outfit, asos oversized square scarf in white based check rainy day outfit, parka jacket, plaid blanket scarf rain boots outfit, asos oversized square scarf in white based check rainy day outfit, parka jacket, plaid blanket scarf
Top: Club Monaco Stripe Top
Outerwear: Aritzia Parka Jacket (similar here, here)
Scarf: Asos Oversized Square Scarf in White Based Check on sale!
Shoes: J.Crew Rain Boots (similar here, here)
Socks: Unknown (similar here, obsessed with these here and here)

I was looking through my fall and winter blog roll and noticed that I haven’t posted a rain boots outfit this year. How could this be when I live in rainy Seattle, right? I guess it’s cause I only take outfit photos when it’s not raining but it’s time for me to show you what I typically wear on a rainy day!

I bought these J.Crew rain boots on major sale several years ago and I still love them. I’m surprised that I don’t have any Hunter rain boots yet, but I think I want some cute light pink ones for next fall and winter! My favorite thing about wearing rain boots is wearing knee high socks with them. They add another layering dimension to the outfit while keeping you extra warm! The ones I’m wearing are actually thigh high socks but I wore them at knee length. I can’t determine the brand of these but I found super cute ones here and here.

I’m doing a little pattern play here by pairing this Club Monaco stripe top (size XS) with this Asos plaid blanket scarf (which is on sale FYI!). I last wore this scarf here in a more casual dressy way and dressing it way down in today’s look. This plaid blanket is ginormous but it’ll definitely keep you cozy and was perfect was yesterday’s blustery weather (Don’t let the photos fool you, we were super lucky to find a 15 minute slot when there was absolutely no rain. The rest of the day was pouring with high winds!).

I wore this rain boots outfit yesterday to get some acai bowls with the boo thang and then later we had some Boiling Point hot pot and bubble tea. Our bellies were definitely full of laughter and of course lots of yummy food! How was everyone’s Sunday?

I’m obsessed with my hunter boots, I can’t even believe that I went so long without ever owning a pair of rain boots in our climate. What was I thinking. I really want a pink pair too. I have never worn knee high socks with my boots but want to. I love the look.

Your Sunday sounds awesome. I still need to try an acai bowl. Where did you get yours? Or did you make it?
