Who else can’t believe Valentines Day is only seven days away (it seems like Christmas was just a few weeks ago!)? I’m typically a stay-in type of girl and just like to cook a nice meal. However, I know this day is the perfect excuse for dressing up and going out for dinner! If you’re looking for a romantic outfit for Valentines Day whether for a fancy date night or fun girls night out, this black lace dress is the perfect combination of flirty, classy and sexy. The lace details are delicate, feminine, and beautiful while the back cutout shows off a little skin. The fit-and-flare cut is also super flattering – I’m such a sucker for anything that cinches at the waist and flares out since it gives the illusion of a smaller waist.
I actually have this black lace dress in multiple colors including emerald green and pink. It’s such a versatile piece that comes in numerous colors and ideal for so many different special occassions! For reference, I’m wearing a size 2 and it runs small. Nordstrom recommends that you size down if you’re between sizes. However, I definitely think you should size up altogether. The size 0 feels like a 00, the 2 feels like a 0, you get the idea. Also note that you will need to either wear pasties or a strapless bra. I’m wearing a strapless bra in these photos and it doesn’t show in the front (near the see-through lace lining) or the back. However, I’ve read from other reviews that their bras did peek out so just make sure you wear the right one.
Lastly, in terms of quality, this lace dress is good but not top notch. The fabric is definitely on the thin side (and yes, I was freezing for the 20 minutes we took these photos #bloggerproblems). The lace is also very delicate so you have to be careful of it catching onto things. Overall, it’s still a very gorgeous dress for right under $100! These colors here are also 40% off!
