Had to share one last recap of my parents’ 50th Had to share one last recap of my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary party because that clip of them dancing and my dad dancing with my daughters will forever be one of my favorite memories 🥹

My parents fled Vietnam in 1975 after the war ended. When they arrived in Washington to meet their sponsors, my dad happened to see my mom and aunt at the airport struggling and not knowing any English. He stepped in to help them then pursued my mom for the next six months. They got married shortly after in 1976 and the rest is history!

As recent refugees starting over in a new country, they didn’t have much money, so they had a small, simple wedding. That’s why I knew I wanted to make their 50th anniversary party extra special and give them the beautiful celebration they never had. Happy 50th anniversary to my parents!! ❤️🥂 #50years #anniversaryparty

Drape Top Casual Outfit

drape top, halogen studded flats, leather jacket casual outfit
drape top, loeffler randall lock clutch, casual outfit
drape top, halogen studded flats, leather jacket casual outfit
drape top, leather jacket casual outfit
Top: Bobi Drape Top (similar here, here, here – dresses here, here, here)
Bottoms: Topshop Skinny Jeans
Outerwear: BLANKNYC Faux Leather Jacket
Shoes: Halogen Studded Flats (eyeing the heeled versions here)
Bag: Loeffler Randall Lock Clutch

Let’s be honest, I’m typically not a fan of drape tops, mostly because I didn’t think they were flattering on me. But for some reason, this specific drape top by Bobi drew my attention. Maybe it’s the pretty purple-ish color or the high-low top effect (my favorite kind of shirt). Not sure, but something made me want to buy and try it out. After wearing it, I don’t know what my gripe against these kind of shirts was all about because I want to buy even MORE now!

I love that a drape top is usually made of light and fluid fabric so it’s SUPER comfortable! The draping also makes a blouse or dress look very classy and elegant. A drape top is also versatile – wear it with slacks or trousers for work, or pair it with a blazer for dinner or a girls night out. For me, I kept it simple and casual with my favorite BLANKNYC faux leather jacket and these Halogen studded flats. This combo was worn as a casual date night outfit with the boo, but I could totally see it working for Valentine’s Day too (yep, I just rhymed. Move over, Jay-Z).

I must be having terrible luck with my post timing lately but this shirt in purple is almost sold out (which also happened in the last post). Maybe you can try your luck in the black color! If you’re just completely out of luck, don’t worry, I did a lot of research and found several similar drape tops AND dresses that I think you’ll like! Check out the options below!
