Had to share one last recap of my parents’ 50th Had to share one last recap of my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary party because that clip of them dancing and my dad dancing with my daughters will forever be one of my favorite memories 🥹

My parents fled Vietnam in 1975 after the war ended. When they arrived in Washington to meet their sponsors, my dad happened to see my mom and aunt at the airport struggling and not knowing any English. He stepped in to help them then pursued my mom for the next six months. They got married shortly after in 1976 and the rest is history!

As recent refugees starting over in a new country, they didn’t have much money, so they had a small, simple wedding. That’s why I knew I wanted to make their 50th anniversary party extra special and give them the beautiful celebration they never had. Casual Fashion Style with Waterfall Jacket

casual fashion style, leith army green waterfall jacket, nordstrom bp trolley ankle booties, topshop skinny ripped jeans, striped shirt casual fashion style, leith army green waterfall jacket, nordstrom bp trolley ankle booties, topshop skinny ripped jeans, casual fashion style, leith army green waterfall jacket, nordstrom bp trolley ankle booties, topshop skinny ripped jeans, striped shirt casual fashion style, leith army green waterfall jacket, nordstrom bp trolley ankle booties, topshop skinny ripped jeans, striped shirt, bobble insulate water bottle casual fashion style, leith army green waterfall jacket, topshop skinny ripped jeans, striped shirt casual fashion style, leith army green waterfall jacket, nordstrom bp trolley ankle booties, topshop skinny ripped jeans, striped shirt
Top: Club Monaco Striped Shirt (similar here)
Bottoms: Topshop Skinny Ripped Jeans
Outerwear: Leith Army Green Drape Jacket
Shoes: Nordstrom BP Trolley Ankle Booties
Bag: Street Level Faux Vegan Leather Tote

I love getting inspiration from fashion forward and dressed up outfits, but what I love even more is a girl with a chic casual fashion style. It’s just so much relatable and practical to me! Maybe it’s because I live in Seattle and we’re known to be super laid back (and sometimes not fashionable at all), but honestly, I feel like most of us girls are always on the go and don’t have time to dress up every day.

So here’s my own take on casual fashion style. This is the type of outfit you would catch me wearing on a week day to work. If I’m not in flats, you’ll for sure find me in ankle booties that have a chunky heel. These Nordstrom BP Trolley ankle booties are my absolute favorite since they’re super comfortable, go with everything, and less than $100! I’m also almost always in Topshop skinny ripped jeans. I used to buy a lot of designer jeans but Topshop jeans fit me SO well – I haven’t paid more than $100 for jeans in the last year! Tina’s Tip: Topshop jeans usually run small so size up (I’m typically a 25 but wear a 26 regular).

I think my favorite part about this casual outfit is this awesome army green waterfall jacket. It’s chic, lightweight, and the drape front is pretty perfect! I’m wearing an XS and it fits true to size. The fabric is very comfortable, but gets wrinkly easily. And yes you guessed it – it’s also under $100 (are you starting to get the theme here?). I layered it over this Club Monaco striped shirt, which is my favorite casual top!

What do you think about having a casual fashion style? Is it important to you and do you prefer it over fashion forward and/or dressed up outfits? Let me know in the comments section!

lovely post, I prefer casual fashion with a dash of fashion forward & personal style mixed in–like using a trendy accessories or a ‘in’ color.
Sometimes, when you’re trying to be too ‘fashion-forward’ it looks like your trying too hard, but you captured great-easy-casual style here without looking over done or trying too hard!
